Pros:

Smells nice, I think it has made my pores smaller..

Cons:

My skin wasn't that bad before, now over a month in, I have spots around my mouth and chin, which I never had, and little spots all over my forehead.

I don't know if now I am paying more attention to my skin so I notice the imperfections, or if Murad are trying to make my skin worse so I keep using the product to wait to work. I spent enough money on this to feel like I have to carry on. I only read good reviews before I bought, and I wish I would have read all of these before too! I think I will carry on until I run out of the products and see what it's looking like then..

Pros:

feels light on my skin

Cons:

made me break out waaaaay worse than I ever have.

I suffered with terrible acne for years, tried everything- accutane, antibiotics, acne facials etc. I started using proactive 4 years ago and my face cleared up amazingly. I read up on Murad and liked how it seemed a little more natural and moisturizing. After 2 weeks my face started breaking out.. i thought maybe it was purging. but now after using murad for almost 2 months my face is continually getting worse and worse. I'm throwing this expensive garbage away and going back to my old faithful-proactive.

Pros:

The face wash is great and left my skin feeling clean and the skin perfecting lotion seemed to work good, too. Cleared my face for about a month.

Cons:

After a month my breakouts came back with a vengeance! Its kinda pricey since it doesn't work that great. And the treatment gel smells like rotten eggs. Seriously.

I'm sure it works for some people with light acne, but it definetly didn't work for me. After about a month, I broke out worse than ever! I don't reccomend this product.

Pros:

None.

Cons:

-It purged my skin aka more skin breakouts.

I tried and purchased the whole Murad Acne Kit, which is 4 pieces. I had gorgeous Gabrielle Union skin until around 19 years old. My skin at that time, randomly breaking out. Because I have been diagnosed with hormonal acne, my skin one minute is clear, then just breaks out. So, I can't say if it is moderate or light. Def. not severe though. I bought this kit because their infomercial stated how gentle it was compared to Proactiv. But within a short period of using this, my pimples became cluster-Cysts on both sides of my face. After my skin healed, I was left with really ugly acne hyperpigmentation on both sides of my face. It looked awful and took months to disappear. As a woman of color, I can't afford to purge, as once the breakout heals, I get hyperpigmentation. I think this is the worst product I tried.

Pros:

Not very many. The fragrance is probably the best (expect treatment gel) then I'd say the way the cleanser feels when you apply it to your skin.

Cons:

Everything else. It does a so-called "Purging" to your skin. The pamplets that come with it tell you your supposed breakout, and the acne treatment gel is the worst thing I've ever smelled, and on occasion it stings, and leaves skin red and blouchy.

My experience with Murad has been a nightmare. My skin was probably in between light and moderate, one month after using it, it destroyed my skin Week 1: skin cleared up nice, a little dry, and sometimes felt a little tight, whiteheads gone, cystic acne was sizing down but on occasion became flaky Week 2: skin became more oily (due to overdrying) moderate shine, whiteheads and blackheads started to appear, cystic acne swelled a little. Week 3: skin broke out, extremly more oily. whiteheads, blackheads, and cystic acne swell Week 4: skin a little bit better. oily and shiny, whiteheads, blackhead, and cystic acne swelling done, but some left marks, and ocassional flaking. After that I sent it back for a refund, Murad basically takes acne away for about a week, and then give it back with twice as much problems. I have been using Clean & Clear products, and am almost fully cleared up.

Pros:

pretty packaging

Cons:

doesn't clear up acne AT ALL
causes extreme dryness coupled with pimples (ew!)

Murad is extremely expensive and simply doesn't work! I stuck with it (using the cleanser, gel and lotion) for 3-6 months and saw absolutely NO results! It may have actually worsened my skin. Now I am taking vitamin b5 (15 500mg pills per day) and using baking soda masks (three times a week) and I am totally clear!

Pros:

Quick results! You can feel it work and leaves skin soft and smooth. Also, you just feel like your face cant get any clearer. Pores are shrinking. I love it! Absolutely no skin drying/irritation like with Pro Active!

Cons:

You may need a separate moisturizer for after the exfoliation.

I'm on my second month [when they send you the big bottles] and I haven't had my skin this clear since before I had acne..about 6 years ago. I feel sooo good about myself now and didn't even know this skin was possible. I did not go through any purging period btw which was lucky. -The cleanser is really tingly, which I love. It reassures that it is working when you can feel it in your pores. -The Exfoliating gel dries pretty quickly and then you put on the lotion, which I don't believe has any acne benefits in it. Its just to calm the skin. So you can use any other gentle face moisturizer. Be sure to do the routine everyday morning and night. The improvements really motivated me to stay on top of it. If I do see a breakout coming up [which I have only had two], I dab the spot treatment on and at night, dab some of the mask on and forget about it in 2 days. -Its sooo worth the price and im so glad I ordered this stuff.
