Wolfy 1 Posted February 12, 2006 Since accutane and isotrex have the same active ingredient, couldn't one obtain accutane's affects by ingesting isotrex gel? Accutane is normally given in say, 40-80 mg per day dose. The source I just checked said that isotrex contains 0.05g per 100g, in other words, the entire tube contains 50 mg. Quite apart from the possible toxicity of the other ingredients you would have to take an entire tube per day. So, no.
