OH NO!!! I see we have another Jay on this website!! :-( .... JUST KIDDING! ... WELCOME!

Your story sound familiar to mine. I am now on Accutane as well. I am barely into my third month and I am on 120MG a day. Sounds painful doesn't it? It's really not that different than when I was on 40.

Anyway... I totally understand what you must feel when others suggest produc you should try. The other day I was driving with my mom and guy pulled up from the left and told my mom "Is your kid taking any meds for his face" I answered for her and said "Yes I am... " Ididn't know what to do. Maybe he was just trying to help?? I don't know whether people do it to be snideful or simply becaue they feel it's helpful to suggest things.

My FAVORITE is when little kids come up to me and tell me "Oh my god! you should try proactiv! my tv says it works!" They're so cute and naive....

well.. i really hope you clear up dude. Did you start off at 40MG a day? I heard that if you stick with the dosage that you started with you're more likely to begin clearing sooner. This wasn't the case for me... I started at 40 a day and then 80 and now...... the BIG 120......... So i really hope it works miracles for you, especially because you're only 15 years old and (what are you in, your freshmen year? Sophomore?) Yea... I hope you clear up so that you can enjoy the remaining years of high school without having to get up in the morning and stress over your skin.

Keep us updated dude... I'll be praying for you to clear up!! :-)

Best,

-JAY

Hey jay,

thanks a lot man....i really hope that your face clears up too, it is really hard for anyone to have to go through this, but i guess that in a way we are somewhat lucky.... i say we are lucky because maybe instead of acne we could of had cancer or some other disease. ONE DAY EVERY ONE OF US WILL BE ACNE FREE AND WERE ALL GONNA LAUGH AT THIS. as far as the people who comment on our faces... i think that they are trying to give us advace because they think it will help, but what they dont understand is that our acne isnt the kind that will just go away. well, best of luck jay.... keep in touch and update on how your face is doing,

Jay

January 24, 2006,

My face has gotten a tiny bit better every day over the last week, but not a noticable enough. the coloring of my red spots are starting to blend a bit better with the actual color of my skin... im hoping that my face continues to get a little better every day. i havent really had any side effects lately, my lips arent even getting chapped anymore... is my body becoming used to the medicine? i have been taking the pills with dinner every day... should i take it with breakfast? ill update you soon,

Jay

i just got back from my grandpas funeral, and my self esteem is really low right now. im kind of confused about life, and why i am here in the first place. as far as my face, its a little better, most of it is flattened out about now, and all that needs to happen is for the red marks to go away. wednesday is my montly derm. appointment. tommorrow i am trying out for my school tennis team, but im probably not going to make it. i know that sounds really negative, but all of the other kids are really good, and only ten kids make the team, not to mention that there are 5,000 students in my school! well, its really late, and i havent even done any of my homework thats due tommorrow, so i need to go do that. wish me luck for tommorrow.. im hoping that ill be happier soon, and that maybe i can just get through this stage. i hope that you all are doing good,

Jay

Sorry to hear about your birthday "present" but maybe this is THE LAST time you'll get that gift!!! I'm rooting for you!!!

I started on 'tane 2 weeks ago and my derm already had me do the iPledge stuff... figured might as well just get it out of the way.

All these extra precautions because of the numskulls who effed up on it... damn shame, ya know?

Best to ya :D

Retin-A really worked for me (all gazillion times I was on it!) So did the pill and minocycline.

I finally had to go on accutane as I developed excema...so no more topicals. My doc put me on mino which worked but the moment i came off-it all came back even worse-so accutane was the final option.

My face had been getting better every day last week, but it stopped this week. i had been on Claravis (one of the generics for accutane)for the last 3 months, and i guess they didnt have any more at the pharmacy becauase they gave me amnesteem instead. is it okay that they are switching me on different generic versions of the medicine??

month five- the i.pledge program is horrible! the doctors office put in the wrong date of my appointment into the i.pledge system, and so i am not aloud to get this months prescription of accutane for another week, and i have no more pills left! my face it pretty much acne free, but i have the really bad pigments. im a little upset with myself because i got a sunburn yesterday and im afraid that my scars wont go away because of it. what can i do to get rid of the red marks? anyone have any advice?

Hi there-

Don't worry too much, I am only through month 1, finished on the 30th of march, and I can't get my new script till the 18th. I haven't had any skin changes and no new pimples in 10 days. I think you will be ok, BUT I can't say for sure as everyone reacts different.

Hey Jay,

First of all what the heck is this iPledge thing?? I live in South Africa, and i dont think we have it here... Secondly, to get rid of those red marks, i suggest you take zync, as this has made my red marks almost dissapear in 2 weeks!! Amazing stuff...

Good luck with the sunburn and marks,

CC
