Is it ok to pick flaking skin

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if it is bad to pick dry flaky skin. Most mornings when i wake up the BP has reduced some of my active acne leaving a circular dry flaky patch. I have got in the habit of picking this skin off as it just makes your skin look crusty! im worried that by doing this i am creating scarring. Its hard not to touch because once you put makeup over it it looks like clear skin (which it isnt!!) Should this dry skin be left alone or is it ok to pick scratch off??

don't use ur fingers to pick them off because u might run the risk of tearing skin that's not meant to come off yet

use a soft towel and gently rub the skin off after cleansing

I agree with janero...and gently is the operative word. Just use a towel/washcloth/whatever and run it lightly over your dry spots right after cleansing. That should help with the flakies.

Good luck!!
