Hydrocortisone good for after-popping?

Here is my take:

I do agree that neosporin or bacitracin ointments are great for healing and reducing scarring/redness. I do think that hydracortisone is good for using right after you pop a pimple though to reduce swelling quickly...works great for me. Be careful though, my cortisone 10 cream has TONS of pore cloggers (including sodium lauryl sulphate) so just dap on the pimple, no where else. After the swelling has gone down, apply neosporin or whatever cream you usually apply. I personally prefer bacitracin ointment over neosporin...seems to be a bit more powerful.

be wary of topical cortisoids...if overused, or used at too higher concentration they can cause skin thinning, stretchmarks and in the worst case scenario cushings syndrome. Remember they only help suppress inflammation they do not do anything for infection.

I'm sure this would contain a lot of pore-clogging crap. I wouldn't suggest putting a substance like that over a freshly popped zit.

Maybe 24 hrs after, if the redness and swelling still hadn't gone down I would consider.

aloe would be fine.....though not right after you pop the zit. Like wash your face...use an astringent...then ater a few mins then apply the aloe. But other creams like hydrocortisone...neosporin...polysporin.....don't bother with. They'll just cause more crap to build up underneath the skin.
