You could try the ester form of vitamin C (not Ester-C brand) topically, which you can find in many face creams. It fades hyperpigmentation.

I think HOW OFTEN you take your vitamin C every day is a lot more important than just the absolute quantity. I'm astounded by the number of people I've talked to who take something like 5 or 6 grams ONCE a day. I think that's absurd. Far better than that would be much smaller amounts taken several times a day. Personally, I usually take 125 mg (I break 250 mg tablets into halves) with every meal, and at bedtime. That's a sum-total of only around 500 mg per day, a quantity which nowadays NOBODY would ever accuse of being a possibly dangerous "mega-dose". And yet it should be pretty darned effective for general health purposes, I believe...

Vitamin C is one of the only vitamins humans don't make on their own-they have to get if from outside sources. It's also water soluable so when your body gets too much of it, you will just pee it out (compared to fat soluble vitamins such as Vitamin A whose excesses are stored in the liver). I personally am a big supported of Vitamin C and vitamins. You can get them from food, but I think you should supplement. I also was very glad to see bryan point out that you should take it in small doses throughout the day, rather than all at once. Another thing. Most Vitamin C creams (topicals) on the market today loose their potency when exposed to the sun, so they don't really do much.

the last site is a little extreme, as they are VERY pro-vitamin C, but its still valid to take a gander at what they have to say

thats quite a bit bro, you shld be cold free for a while. shld be interesting to see how quickly your scars clear up. I tell you what helps me getting ridding of red marks. Chucking a load of aloe vera all over your face jus before bed. That and a load of zinc, obviously not on your face tho lol

LOL, Pika I think you are taking plenty of Vitamin C. Although Bryan is right you aren't getting 2g each time you take it. This is further reduced depending on wether you are taking it in the form of a tablet, capsule, or liquid supplement.

General rule is that you will absorb more from your supplements & medications the smaller the dosage is per caplet/capsule. Meaning 4 - 500mg Vitamin C tablets will give you more Vitamin C than 2 - 1g tablets.

Of course extending these throughout the day also increases your absorption as foods are only broken down and absorbed for certain periods of time and whatever is left when that time is over usually gets eliminated. So by breaking it into 2 - 3x a day dosaging (which I don't always have time to do as I usually take powdered supps) you can help maximize the amounts you are getting (and not waste your money).

I thought Ester-C was the best form of Vitamin C since it was more easily absorbed - - am I wrong?
