JJ-storm 0 Share Posted March 30, 2018 Which moisturiser is best to use to clear flaky skin? The acne.org moisturiser seems to break a lot of people out (and has mainly bad reviews) and I don’t think it will be great for me, is E45 lotion any good or does E45 break a lot of people out too? What moisturiser is best for people with oily skin that also is a bit flaky and dry in areas (I want one that is non comedogenic and won’t break me out)?
SkincareAddict417 1 Share Posted April 10, 2018 Sebamed Moisturizing Face Cream is the best one I've tried. It's pH-balanced so it is perfect for combination skin.
karaaa 0 Share Posted April 10, 2018 I've just started using Nivea Soft- has amazing reviews, smells great and is very cheap!
jsmithson 2 Share Posted June 30, 2018 (edited) Sadly no commercial moisturizer has ever worked for me. The best moisturizer I have ever used by far is the one I am now making myself: hyaluronic acid powder and water. When you mix the powder into water it makes a super thick water - it has the viscosity of honey. You can get the powder from Amazon for about 10 bucks and it should last you at least 6 months. I make a batch every 2 weeks and keep it in the fridge. This stuff is really magic hydration wise for my super oily skin! Edited June 30, 2018 by jsmithson
Riyanna 1 Share Posted September 22, 2020 (edited) Hi, Since your skin texture is both oily as well as dry in some areas, you are experiencing skin health issues related with combination skin type. In such a situation it is always preferred to use a moisturizer for combination skin type. If different moisturizers are applied on both the dry and oily skin areas respectively, then chances of getting huge clogged pores formation is high. Due to the same reason my skin health specialist had prescribed the dermatologically formulated Cetaphil moisturizer for combination skin for me and it is to be applied when our skin is damp. The non-irritating, non- comedogenic, hypoallergenic, fragrance-free and light-weighted moisturizer for combination skin replenish, hydrate and in addition protects our skin from sunburn and premature skin aging. From my experience I would love to prefer and suggest the same Cetaphil moisturizer for combination skin to you as a remedy. jamesr83 1 Share Posted October 26, 2020 (edited) Ones that work for me and I continue to use are - Sukin, Super Greens, Facial Recovery Serum - La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Light Sensitive Moisturiser Both are free or low alcohol and don't contain shea butter, which is a no no for me. I also used super expensive La Mer for a while. It worked (the gel form) but costs mega bucks. Edited October 26, 2020 by jamesr83
lizza johnson 0 Share Posted November 3, 2020 We all want to know what is the best whether it’s moisturizer, serum, cleanser. Best comes down to the ingredients that work “best” for your skin. For instance, in oil free moisturizers, some can tolerate 10% Benzoyl Peroxide which is the highest percentage allowable while others are more sensitive and have to stay at 5% and below.
