Supplements for balancing hormones (and reducing oil production)?

Has anyone gotten advice from a healthcare practitioner about supplements to take in order to help balance the body's hormones, so as to reduce skin's oil production--and, hopefully, reduce the potential for inflammation (i.e., cystic acne)? If so, what supplements did he/she suggest?

Raise your Omega-3 fatty acids and DPA and EHA. Basically,  try some Cod Liver Oil. Also,  more D3. I got this advice from a sports nutritionist in my area.
