Factoid 64 Share Posted August 12, 2015 1.5mm is ideal, that's about the depth of the deepest icepicks/boxcars and will net you a more decent collagen boost.
Robertitoo 311 Author Share Posted August 12, 2015 (edited) hey Robertitoo, your face is looking pretty good, i can only see like one scar on your most recent pic. I have a question, why did you go for the 1mm needle length this time instead of the 2mm+ you did last time? Do you think the shorter length is actually more effective for acne scars or are you going for a shorter length since your scars are alot more shallow now. Ive always wondered if I was doing more harm than good using the 2mm. I read that with a shorter needle you can needle more often. For example with a 1.0 you can needle every 2-5 weeks, where as with a 1.5+ you're supposed to only needle every 4-8 weeks.. That and my scars aren't really deep..Even Slight erythema will intensify the skin to heal itself Edited August 12, 2015 by Robertitoo

I just wonder because it seems like I may need to do like 20 on one of my cheeks. Does that sound like it couldn't be done at once? And how do you know if subcision would work on certain scars? I have obviously teathered ones by my mouth that pucker but others that I think might benefit too! Is there a way to know? Yeah, it's easy for a physician. Subcision works on all pitted scars, boxcars, tethered rolling, mildly atrophic rolling/boxcar especially if you follow the suction method!

Robertitoo 311 Author Share Posted August 28, 2015 If you're persistent enough (i'm talking 1-2 years) I believe you can get achieve satisfactory results doing microneedling to.
Noa27 89 Share Posted August 28, 2015 My English is not really good, so what do you mean by passes at the suctioning? Do you mean by 8 passes to suction each scar 8 times? And how many times did you pull the handle of the suctioning device (had 1 today from owndoc)?
Robertitoo 311 Author Share Posted August 29, 2015 4-8 passes, yes. 3 times a day for a 1-2 weeks. I pulled the handle 1-2 times. Use jojoba oil to ease the suctioning process.
Noa27 89 Share Posted August 29, 2015 Ok, I'm a bit ashamed, but this is my last question (for a while :'). I promise! Why did you do the overlapping-thing with suctioning?

Emhfali 0 Share Posted September 15, 2015 one question concerning (mirco-)needling in the post-op time: robertitoo starts microneedling just the same day as subcision was performed on him and after his 2nd subcision he starts with 1 mm needling (both with that derminator thing?) why would he do that? i thought subcision + suction after 3rd day is the key (?) and microneedling follows after a few weeks when the bruising from subcision is gone..? btw is there any difference between (micro-)needling and dermarolling? mr matt uses the term 'dermarolling' in his thread..
FaultlessFire 7 Share Posted September 15, 2015 Microneedling is just a collective word for dermarolling and dermastamping. Dermarolling means you have a dermaroller that you roll over your face and dermastamping means you stamp your face with the needles. Dermastamping is generally considered safer and more targeted than dermarolling. Dermarolling is faster but there's a higher risk for infection and damage because the needles can bend after a while etc.
d00little 7 Share Posted September 20, 2015 (edited) Hi Robertitoo, What do you think of taking aspirin before subicision to prevent blood clotting (https://youtu.be/N6z9RkZNOoQ)? I guess it's meant to prevent tethering. I've read on other web pages that patients are not supposed to take aspirin before surgery because it may result in more bruising ([Link removed]). I never took aspirin but, theoretically you do want more prolonged bruising and swelling. I'd say do it, but make sure to incorporate suctioning as well! Noa27 89 Share Posted September 30, 2015 First of all i would like to thank robertitoo for all the information. It really gives me hope and i am motivated to suction every day Last monday i went to a doctor to do subcision. It was quite a journey to find a doctor who do this procedure. I live in Holland and there is 1 doctor that does subcision. But when i googled his name, not many people where fond about him. So, i searched for another doctor and then i saw this doctor who lives in Belgium. That is like 1.5 hour drive from my home so that was ok 3 months ago i had an appointment with him to talk about subcision. My appointment starts at 11 am and ended at 13 pm! He was extremely helpfull and passioned about his work. He explained things very good. Last monday i had the subcision done by him. Again, he was very kind and took the time for me. I only came for the subcision, but he did a lot more. First he started with a peeling. Then he used the yag laser (the one with infrared). I got the laser for free because he wanted to show me how lasers work. It was a nice warm feeling on my face Then he numbed my face and used the dermapen. After that he did a colling mask on my face. And then after that, he did the subcision He told me that it is not wise to take asperin afterwards and if you want to do subcision, you have to wait when your monthly period is over. The cost of this all was 170 euros (190 USD). Now, 2 days after the procedure i started to suction. With jojoba oil (thanks for the tip robert!). My cheeks are red/blue and i hope this will work

Remember suction religiously at least 3 times per day (e.g 8am, 3pm, 9pm) whilst suctioning each scar 5-8 times-for 4-5 seconds. Make sure you take pictures! I'm positive you'll achieve great results. Are you going to suction for the full 2 weeks? Eat healthy and stay positive !
