probiotics and antibiotics

I was recently put on an antibiotic for an infected cyst. My nurse told me that they encourage patients to use a probiotic too.

Will this cancel out the antibiotic?

I would just not take it but I think I have a yeast infection from taking the antibiotics (killed off the "friendly bacteria" that keeps things normal down there!) shock.gif

sorry guys. I guess I should have posted a "ladies only" warning on the title!

Its perfectly fine to take probiotics while on antibiotics. All they are is the good bacteria in your gut like whats found in yogurt. Get a good refigerated one from the vitamin shoppe. This dry ones are worthless. A good one I uses was called healthy trinity.
