Not Sure To Use Regimen

Recommended Posts

HI everyone. I am Amel.I come from Albania. I am a 14 years teen girl who has pimples. My face is oily. My pimples started to show 2 years ago. Comparing to my friends I have the worst. I have been looking in Internet for anti Acne products. I saw Acne.org : Regimen. I have seen a video on Youtube , where a girl tells her story about her acne. Firstly I didn't believe, what I was seeing. Her results were incredible. Also I saw the gallery with photos of users. After a few months of usage their results were pretty good. But I have light pimples. I have them on my forehead and on my nose. The rest of my face is clear. I want to use this product but I am afraid because it might be too strong for me , although the pimples on my forehead are very bad.

Here are some photos. I had just washed my face. Can anyone tell me what kind of acne do I have and should I use Regimen ? If not what else can I use?

I do think you could start using the Acne.org regimen. It is a good habit to get into for when/if your skin gets any worse. If you are worried about the chemicals being too strong, I would say just use a small amount of benzoyl peroxide (treatment) for your face. That is ultimately the only part of the regimen that might cause extreme dryness/flakiness if you overuse it. Your face is still in a very healthy state and I think the regimen would help a lot of your bumps go down. Just make sure you are practicing all the steps correctly and treating/moisturizing properly. Hope this helps and best of luck!

Thank you very much for the reply. I have decided to buy it. Can you also tell me what kind of acne do I have?

It looks like you have very, very mild acne. Your skin really doesn't look too bad. Get the regimen, but don't stress out too much about your skin because it's not bad :)

We cannot diagnose your acne but it does look very mild in those pictures. The Regimen works well for most cases of acne if it's followed very precisely. Do you have sensitive skin? If so, read here: http://www.acne.org/faq.html#sensitivehttp://www.acne.org/faq.html#sensitive

Ultimately though, it's up to you whether to use this method or not. Due to your young age you may want to talk it over with your parents first.

Your skin at the moment is really clear and looks healthy. I personally wouldn't advise you to use the acne.org regimen and that's from personal experience. It's not that it didn't work for me, but when you have very mild acne, is adding BP to your face worth the implications? You're going to have really dry and flaky skin for the first two weeks and I kid you not, it's not an exaggeration how flaky it actually gets. Also if you were to come off the regimen, your skin could end up looking worse than it does now.

Those that say 'go for it' are usually the ones that have fully adapted to it and are dependent on the regimen in order to maintain clear skin - which is of course not their fault, their form of acne requires antibacterial treatment. Yours seems to be very tame and by treating your skin kindly, I think you could clear those blemishes up quickly and safely.

Also, you're 14. Don't go damaging your skin at this point by using BP, let your skin grow and repair itself. A lot of people here have adult acne that is persistent, try work out your skin type and be gentle to it for now. Trust me smile.png

Actually I agree a lot with this statement. Your acne is mild and you are still young. Trying to address your minor acne with a less harsh method IS a reasonable consideration.

Yes, Pepe10, unfortunately this is a normal reaction when first starting the regimen, and it usually last anywhere from 3 -8 weeks or so. Just make sure you arent using too much BP in the early weeks. Start with a small application (pea size) once a day for a few days, then the same amount twice a day, and then slowly build up your BP application until you are using the full recommended amount.

But there is no getting around the redness and dry/itchiness until your skin adjusts to the BP. But it DOES get better. Patience and persistence. Good luck my friend! smile.png

I'm glad you agree AyeAye :)

Also remember, the regimen isn't going anywhere. If in a few months, a year you're still struggling with your skin - come back and start the regimen.

It was right for me at the time because I had persistent acne at the age of 19 which would not shift no matter what I did.
