Gut Flora And Scientific Community

I read the article in the link below and it felt like a breath of fresh air. I was getting sick of friends saying that I shouldn't bother with diet when it comes to acne (although the link is about weight loss) because it's a myth etc blah blah blah. It's good to know that I now have some credibility and can mention articles like this. The article's kind of long but I suggest reading it from start to finish. An interesting point that was mentioned was that 30 years ago the scientific community believed gut flora to have absolutely no effect on weight loss and that it seems that these notions basically became apart of the common view of people. Another is that health issues tend to become over simplified, and that if things aren't intuitive (like the idea that you have to exercise x amount to negate y amount of calories) then people think it's crap.
