Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser vs Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser

Recommended Posts

The gentle version is probably the most recommended cleanser out there (among acne sufferers.)

Yesterday at the store I came across the oily version, which is actually targeted for people with acne.

To anyone that has used both, how do they compare?

I have USED both. I first purchased the Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser and I accidentally purchased the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser when I ran out of the other. To tell you the truth I wouldn't even recommend them. In the long run they just made my acne worse (making my skin more oily, drying out face, ect). What I do recommend is the water only regimen.

Also I still have these in my bathroom:

I have Cetaphil daily cleanser and I DO NOT like it. Would not recommend that at all. Bad smell, bad consistency, burns my face!

I find the Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser to be too drying and irritating for my skin. The Gentle one however,is fabulous! I'm on a topical(Epiduo) and I needed something gentle and non drying. I love the smell of it and it feels heavenly when I wash with it,it glides over my skin. It doesn't remove makeup nor does it lather, but it wasn't intended to do either so I just use makeup remover before. It hasn't broken me out and is clearing up my acne. It also makes my sometimes dry/flaky skin soft and smooth. Does NOT burn at all, it soothes. I've been using it for 5 months and love it. Definitely recommend this product.
