tca peels

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say that I have read many of the posts written by people who have done peels at home. This is a good alternative for many and is much less expensive than professional treatments, however, please, be very cautious especially the first time. Erring on the side of caution is better than causing irreversible damage to your skin. I know that you are anxious to get results and you will, but patience is also key. As you become more experienced on how your skin reacts to a particular strength, then go to the next level.

I recently had a hand peel done professionally. It was $150., the tech. left it on for about 3 mins. and I hardly felt any burning. It has been over a week and my skin is still peeling lightly. Now that I have seen this done, I will repeat it myself since I feel more confident doing so. A TCA peel of medium strength should only be done every 4-6 weeks and using a glycolic cream (5-8%) can prepare the skin and make the peeling more even.

I hope this is useful.
