Are you SURE the new giant pumps give the same amount?

I got my new shipment of acne.org supplies today, and they all came with the new giant-headed pump that comes with the locking clips? And it just doesn't feel like they put out the same amount of product as the old round-headed pumps. Now I've never gotten one of the normal, narrow headed replacement pumps, I'm pretty sure these are standard. But it didn't feel tonight like I had the same amount of BP on my face as I usually do. And as I spread it on my face, too, it felt like less.

I took a picture of two pumps from the new giant pump on my fingers, and two pumps from the old round pump closer to my palm, I flattened them out a tad to try and make it clearer to see. :shifty:

I'm putting 2 pumps of the new pump of BP on my face tonight, trusting it's an effective amount. Honestly with my dry climate a little less BP is more appealing than a little more.

Am I being paranoid? :shifty:

woah, that does look like less.

i use extra BP anyway, but i guess i'll have to use even MORE now, to compensate for the pumps when i order my new bottle.

This is why I've always been a fan of the tubes and finger-length method. I know EXACTLY how much I'm getting! I started breaking out after the pump bottles came out.

I actually really hate the finger-length method. a "thick finger length" could mean a million different things. When I started with the tube for my first month of the full dose of BP, turns out I was using about 3 pumps worth of BP and didn't know it.

Alright, I did a little experiment with my handy dandy half teaspoon and here's what I found:

This is what two pumps from the old pump looks like

THIS is what two pumps from the new bigger pump looks like

and THIS is what THREE pumps from the new bigger pump looks like

So one could say 2.5-3 pumps from the new pump would be sufficient.

In the mean time, Im just gonna switch my old pump to my new bottle.

I never used old pumps before, I only used tube ones. I knew there was less bp dispensed after I switched to a pump bottle, but since the weather got chilly I thought it might be okay to use little less bp. But I thought wrong, it's breaking me out pretty bad :(

Thank you for letting us know, now I know to use more than just 2 pumps.

I'm starting to wonder if i already have one of the big pumps, and thats why i need to use more (about two and a half pumps) Hmm.

The pump itself is kind of big, but not gigantic.

i guess i'll find out when i order more (which should be in the next few weeks)

O_O....isn't that like...excessively big? mines definitely the smaller one, but WOW, THAT IS VERY BIG (Insert Thats what she said joke here)

i don't know why they changed them, it seems kind of odd, i've never had trouble with the regular pump, so i don't see a reason for replacing them.

I know right? theyre HUGE. the only reason I can conjure is that the old pumps used to pop open sometimes during shipping? and the new ones come with locking clips that go around the necks of the pumps to keep them from being pressed down.

Well it took me a good 10 minutes to manage to get mine to pop up.

Well, I guess Dan's latest blog entry answers this question...

I just hope this is the reason why the new moisturiser has left me flakey - I've been using 2 pumps instead of the required 3. I hope I can get it sorted because the claims that it eliminates redness and shininess appear to be true, it just hasn't hydrated me enough.

Sadly, I'm missing the old formula at the moment, even if it did result in people asking me if I used sun-beds.
