Do you think the risks of accutane are over-hyped so that money can be made on other products before patients finally get on accutane?

Do you think the risks of accutane are over-hyped so that money can be made on other products before patients finally get on accutane?

I'm in the middle of month 3 and from my experience, the hype of the risks is overdone.

I'm regretful that I didn't get on accutane years ago

No, I don't think the risks are over-hyped. They're very real and serious, and some people do suffer as a result of taking the drug. I'm very glad you're having a good course though. That's awesome. :)

I think there are risks of course, but there are risks with all drugs. Even non-prescrition drugs. I do believe that the negative factors of Accutane are overhyped though.

I don't think the risks are overhyped. Accutane is a serious drug. And, my dermatologist only spent 4 weeks with me on all the topicals, blah blah before Accutane, so we could say we tried everything and nothing worked.

On the flip side, if acne can be cleared relatively easily, then you should just do that.

Accutane is far more expensive, so I would think they would rather push that than some cheap generic antibiotic, so I don't see a motive here.
