Milia from Accutane

Recommended Posts

Ever since I started accutane i've been getting these little white dots called milia. They hurt sometimes because they are located by my lips & my chin. I tried popping 2 with a needle & the milia turned into larger bumps on my skin. What should I do?

i had this problem 6 months ago... i was taking very low accutane dosage

but also using retin-a

and that's what my derm gave me :boohoo:

please don't mess with them >.< i did that and they end up scarring :(

I've been lurking this site for over a year but this is the first time i reply

cause i don't want you end up with milia scarring >:(

they disappear on their own over time

i used Paula's choice AHA and helped unclog them too...

sorry for bad English and best of luck <3

Milia are the technical term for whiteheads and are the result of clogged pores.

The best thing to do is increase your exfoliating routine and decrease your moisturising in the affected areas.

You can get them professionally removed but its a very delicate procedure and if done wrong it can scar your skin.

Make up wont affect your milia

I'll try exfoliating more, whoops I already mousturized the area lol Why do they turn red though?

They've probably become inflamed through irritation!!

Your best option is to leave them alone and exfoliate to open the pores and let them breathe.
