Christmas: Your holiday recipes to stay on your acne diets!

Recommended Posts

So, it is almost Christmas! Will you remain on your acne diet? Will you make a few dishes that are on your diet to keep yourself acne-free? If so, what are your dishes? What are your recipes?

I plan on staying on my diet and finding recipes that won't cause me to break out!

My diet: Low protein.

My Dinner:

Baked Stuffing (bread crumbs, celery, onion, parsley, garlic, veg broth, rosemary, sage)

Simple Fruit salad: Raspberries & Blackberries with a pinch of honey or agave nectar

Whipped potatoes

Yams & Spinach (TASTY recipe from here: Vegan Dad Blog)

Soup: Raw vegan tortilla soup. (Ask me for recipe if you want it)

Raw Apple Pie (Recipe here:

)

And Coconut ice cream! (Brand: Turtle Mountain from the health food isle)

What about yourself?

You can ask your health food store to carry Turtle Mountain if they don't already.

:xmas: I found this recipe for "Eggnog" -- but its called Frognog because the natural ingredients cause it to be slightly green. It is a great Christmas recipe for those who want a relatively healthy alternative that probably won't cause acne. And it's tasty! I found it by Googling 'raw-vegan eggnog recipe.'

This recipe appears to be fine for those who are not on a Low-GI diet. I'll probably make it without the walnuts to stay on my diet.

Things You'll Need:

* Blender

* Refrigerated water or ice water

* 6-7 dates

* 12 soaked walnut halves (scant 1/2 cup) (soaked to soften them)

* 3/4 avocado

* 1 t vanilla

* 1 t nutmeg

* 1/2 t cinnamon

* 3 T agave

If you plan on making this recipe, definitely follow the instructions on the source website because there are special steps.

Turtle Mountain has good alternatives for people who break out from dairy or soy. For those craving ice cream, it can help :).
