Flaxseed

I just bought a whole jug of organic flaxseed as part of my diet. I was wondering do you really have to ground up the flaxseed to eat on salads because i do not have a grounder or anything so i am hoping not.

Also, how big of a serving for a day of flaxseed is ok or good? Do you put it on top of your salads?

i'd watch out about flaxseeds. If you are testosterone deficient then this will make your acne 10x worse. But if you happen to be testosterone dominant then these will help because flaxseeds increase estrogen.

they are a great source of fiber though

you should get flaxseed meal, you can add it to salads and cereals. i would watch how much you consume because you will probably break out the first week or two if you eat too much too suddenly.

I avoid flaxseed like the plague. It gave me severe cystic neck acne. It is ridiculously high in phyto-estrogens - 3 to 4 times more than soybeans. Moreover, males cannot convert the alpha linolenic acids from flaxseed to DHA and EPA as readily as females can. This is not a good source of omega 3 fatty acids for guys. IMHO, guys should just avoid flax.

This actually makes sense to me now. I used to eat quite a lot of it, but have been sticking to just Cod Liver Oil for my Omega 3 source for a week and my skin looks better.
