I like St Ives Aprocot Scrub. I think that you should only exfoliate once (maybe twice) a week... give your skin time to heal :-) I also like to use a little white sugar, sometimes I mix it with my gentle castle face wash (dove works too). Oh, and I use my hands just fine (I always wash them before). I exfoliate after washing, then I tone with an alcohol free toner, and always end with a light weight moisturizer...

This might sound crazy, but I've been using a soft-bristled toothbrush lately. It actually works incredibly well without doing damage like the Apricot Scrub did with my skin. I would really not suggest using that product. Also, I sometimes scrub with baking soda and use Apple Cider Vinegar afterward to balance out my skin's pH levels.
