I have heard from, seemingly every source, that scars will not ever go back to their original state - they will always be depressed, and you will never have a completely normal life. Well, I think that, at least to other people, 100% scar revision is possible - in other words, you can get your scars to the point that they are entirely invisible, or even gone in other people's eyes, with enough patience. Here's just a list of some of the most dramatic scar revisions that I have seen (pretty short at the moment), but for me, at least, it was inspirational. Check them out, and add on if you have anymore! These aren't strange or special circumstances, these are people who spent time and had a plan to fix their scars. Eventually, it will pay off. This is all about giving people hope that, one day, their faces will be the same as they used to!

Dukebaby:

I think that you have a great idea.

Here are a couple of sites of folks who posted before and after photos that I found to be very inspirational:

http://www.tamaramadden.com/Subcision/Subcision.htm

http://www.geocities.com/mgargi2002/day6.html

Both of these people had disfiguring acne scars and sought out treatments to help alleviate their scarring and their suffering.

There is HOPE for the HOPELESS.

We are ALL in this together and let's keep sharing and encouraging one another.

Matt

It isnt' funny but food for thought in the fact that there arn't too many replies in this bulletin. I think that...

1. prevention to the max

2. it is what is is, you're you

3. there are obviously going to be things out there to alleviate scarring but ultimately it won't be 100%. Not trying to get down, just I think it's good to realize that you're you. The more the scars are hyped as "hopeless" I think that makes people insecure.

Hey, I feel like this could work if I could get links working. Does anyone know how to link stuff without the hyperlink being taken out? I am currently having problems that every time I post, it is just simply erased. Does it have something to do with me not being a veteran member? Thanks...

Could you add Needling+dermaroller+light therapy+topicals+internal supplements to my name please :P.

Anyway i plan on taking some more pictures soon, the only problem is i only really have one or two photos that i can go back to see my original scars, even then they are taken after a few sessions dermaroller. Dr Chu did take one or two before i had any treatment though so i may try and get hold of them....

yes it's a bit of a short list but we know looking here is probably the worst for finding those stories. i am active on the makeupalley board and have pm'd with multiple women who have had success with scarring through peels and combined topicals over the period of a year+. a couple of them used a combination of retin-a, c serum, manual exfoliation, and camellia oil, for example. another has had improvement using professional grade leds with biosil and c serum. others had multiple tca peels, and so on. i believe those of us with deeper scars can combine similar approaches over time interspersed with subcision, needling, led, etc. and see significant change.

i've been on the boards since 02 and used to dwell here for hours looking for ways to help but ultimately, i was soaking up a shitload of negativity here. during that time, i had many procedures done but never believed anything could work because of what i'd read. the revision attempts went wrong in weird ways and things got much worse very quickly. i think it's crucial to utilize this mb to pick up on little things like lamarr's led suggestion but then take a step back and keep genuinely positive and open to the reality that significant improvement is possible/coming. excellent thread in that regard.

I think newer techniques like, subcision, CROSS, needling/dermaroller/LED Therapy and maybe even some fillers that leave you with extra collagen are far superior to the old deep chemical peels, old Co2 lasers and dermabrasion, which is all we had 10-15 years ago!

It takes patience unfortunately and trial and error, but significant improvements can be made.

The best story imo was the case of the girl from Australia who had dermal grafts. She was 100% better. Her name was princesspessa or something.

Dermal grafts imo are great because the sample is taken from behind the ear and then IMMEDIATELY injected into the scars - none of this waiting around like with isolagen which some say makes the treament less effective.
