Question for women who menstrate

For those who are currently on a regular menstrual cycle and who are not augmenting their cycle with hormonal birth control, do you find that your acne is positively affected by your period? I know my acne doesn't get markedly worse before my period, but I've noticed sometimes that active blemishes will dry up right before my period... but not always.

Anyone else experience this?

Hm, sadly no. My skin breaksout before, during and especially after my period! I usually have around 10 days of my cycle (between periods) when things are quite calm, then get a breakout at period time.

My acne's WAY worse before and during my period. Just when I start to clear up, my "visitor" comes back and wrecks my skin again

I think I've read somewhere that it's a sign of hormonal acne? I'm not really sure what it all means though. It's so confusing.

Little, I think if your breakouts pretty regularly coincide with your cycle, then you're more likely to have luck with hormonal regulation as a correction for your acne. Like birth control pills. They did jack squat for me for the years I was on them, except for kill my libido. But I think this is just confirming that my acne is not heavily influenced by my hormonal cycle.

Thanks for the advice, I am going to ask my doctor about going on the birth control pill. Good luck finding something that works for your acne!
