Oily skin immediately after cleansing

Immediately (think i used that word enough?) after cleansing my skin in the morning, and night, my skin is still really really shiny. The picture is about 5 minutes after i dry my skin off, and as you can see, it is very shiny. Even without moisturizer on, my skin is shiny, and gets very oily later on. What can i do to stop the shine? My acne isn't that bad, its just this darned shiny face of mine!

(I didn't color on the picture, i just have really cool dark glasses, and elvis hair.)

The Shininess

Also, why does "insert image" never work for me?

I have extremely oily skin myself but one thing I found that works for me at least is my face wash cuz it's all natural,it's a tea tree oil face wash and it gets my face sqeeky clean,I got it at the health food store called Sprouts and I also must add that my face is now 99% clear all the time! I think it's a great product.I have been using it it for over a year now :D

Is it "oily" or is it just "glossy"?

After I wash my skin I'm not oily, but my skin is kind of glossy just because...well I'm not sure why. Because it's not dull like it gets when it's a little dry and flaky. It's not shiny with grease, it's glossy with health, if that makes sense.

That could be what's happening here with you.

One sure way for the original poster to answer that question definitively is just to test his skin with a Sebutape test-strip. It would tell him immediately whether it's oily or just "glossy".

I think you're right about that, and the poster "headtrip_honey" said something similar in another thread: his skin probably has a "glossy" look to it because it's nice and smooth and exfoliated. It makes good sense to me.

Yeah, I remember her saying that too and it also makes sense to me. I don't even need to use the strip test to know that my skin isn't oily, but it still shines in a healthy, exfoliated way. I think that's really what confuses people about this whole "oilier skin after washing" thing. It's not oily, it's just sparkly and clean.

Personally, I don't understand the big deal about having glossy skin. I'm not talking about being a grease ball. I'm talking about people knowing that their skin is clean, but still wanting to get rid of the shine purely for cosmetic purposes. Your pores are clear, your skin is clean.

It's not like I don't think skin that isn't glossy is unhealthy or gross looking; one of my friends has matte skin and it's beautiful (she's so lucky). I've just been thinking about this more and don't really understand the obsession.

I'm pretty sure it's glossy in the picture and not oily. I really don't what to say except maybe use a different cleanser.

Does your skin feel tight after cleansing, could be a layer of dry skin on top that acting shiny
