Retin A more effective on red marks or brown marks?

Recommended Posts

Considering red marks are more to do with inflamation under the skin (possibly some hyperpigmentation/increase in melanin and has a higher occurence in pale individuals) whilse brown marks are to do with an increase in melanin formation in the skin layers/ hyperpigmentation.

From what i've mostly read its ineffective (or less effective) on red marks but on other sites I have read people have seen good results on sun damaged skin/ sun spots which in essence are similar to brown hyperpigmentation marks left from acne.

I wanted to know as I suffer from these left over brown marks and am willing to give Retin A a try. Anyone with first hand experience please let me know. Thanks.
