I have a question for you guys and hopefully somebody will respond. Ok...you know how sometimes pimples tend to get gross white puss in them? :D:D Well, while they are sooo tempting to pop, I've been trying to hold off on that, but now i need to know what's the best way to cover that up so that you dont see the yucky white stuff? Any advice would be very appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Personally I think that if you have a pimple that looks like it is going to pop, you should go ahead and pop it. But you should do it a certain way, and you should probably do it before your nighttime routine so that your face has more time to heal overnight. First of all, you should take two Q-tips and gently squeeze the pimple (try not to press down at all); once the pimple has popped gently squeeze out whatever will come out easily; then dab it with tissue or toilet paper; and finally - take a glob of bp and put it on the pimple and small surrounding area. Don't rub it in, just dab it on and leave on for about 20 minutes. After that, you can just continue with your normal routine (wash, dry, apply bp - or whatever it might be). I just think this can be done with pimples which have come to a big head, because they will probably wind up popping on their own anyways when you are sleeping and rub your face against your pillow, which could potentially just spread bacteria. Well, I hope this helps. Just an idea.

lol....everyone and their mama...so true it is. Those white ones can just grow so huge that the only way to cover it up so others couldn't see it is to wear a helmet! pop it and let the river flow

If you want to simplify the process, take a needle and heat it on the stove until the end turns red which will mean it is sterilized. Then just gently press it on the center of the big white head until it pierces the skin. Follow the whole qtip procedure already mentioned. It makes the whole process easier.

I agree with using the sterlized needle - got that advice from a acne specialist - everytime I went they actually popped and cleaned out the pimples I had at the time and injected the big ones. They told me to sterilize the needle with the flame of a match (hold needle with a tissue or something though 'cause it gets HOT!) and prick the centre and then push down on either side until it bleeds- not squeeze together as some people say. Then of course blot and clean with cleanser and then hold a cotton ball on it until it stops bleeding. If I'm by myself and I'm getting ready in the morning and have things to do I actually put a bandaid on til it stops so I don't have to hold it. Then apply bp and leave it alone!

Something that works for me. After I poke my zit with a needle and pick it. I make sure it is not bleeding anymore and put a piece of ice in a ziplock bag and put it over my pimple for 10 or 15 minutes. The ice seems to make the swelling go down.

I had two of those suckers above my lips today and it took me over two hours to get ready because of them. The only way to pop them was to poke them w/ a needle. Since I had no alcohol I decided against it. I apply make up and it only made it worse. I looked good in the bathroom with the lights on but when I came out and stood by the window - man, did I look hideous. I never felt so ugly and low! My skin has been flaky from using Differin so everything I put on my skin, it looks flaky. I just left the house without makeup. It looked bad but the makeup would have made it worse. Sometimes you are better off without the makeup. No makeup can cover a bump and make you look good. I was ready to put a Band Aide on my zits. I would much rather than people look at that than those ugly suckers!

When I pop a pimple, all I do is wash the area very well & then immediately apply differin over it. Within a couple of days the scar & the pimple is usually gone. Hope this helps. I always use calamine lotion for concealing, it works out very well for me. I tried Neutrogena liquid-powder makeup & I didn't like it. It makes my face very oily & its perpetually shining.

It's impossible to cover a pimple with a white head with makeup. I just pop them, I can't help it because they look so disgusting. What I usually do is take a facecloth and douse it with hot water from the sink, as hot as I can stand it, and then apply it to the pimple. I do this a few times until the head rises. Usually this will cause it to pop on its own, or I have to apply light pressure. I then gently squeeze the white stuff out. I usually do this before taking a shower, because then the warm water and my face wash give it a thorough cleansing. When I come out of the shower, I always splash cold water on my face to open up the pores, and then I apply my b.p. to the affected areas, including where I squeezed. Hope this helps. :(
