Unfortunately, this is one of the bad things that can occur due to the shot. I got cortisone shots and I think I got hypopigmentation spots from them. It's known that these shots can create divots in the skin if too much is injected.

Theres a study that clobetasol (strong steroid)with silicone dressing delivers similar reaults as steroid injections but has less side effects. @Amanda Hallwhy did you get your steroid injections if I may ask.

They can recover. Even really old cases. Just takes dedicated management such as saline shots See the below IG post
