I've had this cystic acne scar, along with a few others, on my shoulder for many years now. This week, it has suddenly appeared much bigger (more protrusion) and with more color (red). This happens sometimes when I get acne nearby, but I don't feel or see a zit or whitehead nearby.

Is it possible for the scar to get this much worse out of nowhere? (see attached picture)

For possible treatment, I've had a few cortisone injections with a little success. Some of the color disipated and they flattened a bit. But these scars still drive me crazy. Has anyone had any luck with cryoshape for these types of scars?
