Hi everyone. So last week I picked at my face. I was doing SO WELL considering my old bad habits of picking. I have long nails and they weren't even pimples, more like white heads. Anyways I picked DEEP and just kept picking at it. They started to form scabs and I was frustrated. I put polysporin with a band aid, tea tree oil, and aloe vera gel. They just didn't go away and I think I made it much worse. I got a facial and the lady gave me a salicylic acid peel for my forehead and nose. My face looks horrible! I'm red, the scabs aren't peeling and seem to be for attached to my skin than ever. They're brown now and I thought they would peel off. I got the facial yesterday and I guess I am just sooo impatient. I mixed baking soda and water to make a paste that I put on the spots to try and make them dry up. It didn't work. Now I'm back to using polysporin and petroleum jelly. Tomorrow I will try honey but I need this to heal. Any suggestions? My face is dry and I can't let it get any more dry

I wouldn't use baking soda again if i were you. only use gentle products while your skin is healing

put vaseline, aquaphor or the Cerave new healing ointment on top of clean skin and moisturizer .. this will keep your skin soft and not dry. If you are out of the house all day then do it at night and put a towel on your pillow, try to sleep on your back so the vaseline/whatever occlusive you use, won't rub off.
Honey is also a good idea 🙂 if you dont have any vaseline or other occlusive then you can use argan oil / almond oil / jojoba oil on clean damp skin.

the longer you keep your skin "humid" with an occlusive or plant oil, the easier your skin will heal .. I pick at my skin on rare occasions but i do these things when all goes wrong.

hope this was helpful

OKAY I am sure you have already healed for the most part but I wanted to give you advice for future incidents. I am a recovering skin picker and a few days ago I had a moment and picked a pretty good spot, to the point where I peeled off the scab and it bled a little. It was badddd, like where you're crying in the mirror. Lol. Anyway, DIAPER RASH CREAM!!!! I have used it for 2 nights and now the spot is just a lil flakey area and is about 70% healed. So amazing, I have never heard of this before until I was on skinpick.com and it is amazing. It stops the oozing, promotes healing, and makes the skin super smooth. The most important thing is to stop picking obviously, but if you have another episode, buy some Butt Cream 40% Zinc. AMAZING STUFF!
