Oily face... 🙁

Hi All,

After 3 years of fighting with acne, they went away by themselves, for the most part. Unfortunately, what's left is my greasy face. It isn't as bad as it used to be, but at the end of the day, my face gets really greasy. When I try to use a moiturizer, it is even more greasy, or so it looks (I guess the oil doesn't come from my skin then, but from the moisturizer, but it still looks shiny).

Is there anything I can do to reduce my face's oiliness?

Thanks,

Crusader

I have a problem w/oilyness too, I use oil sheet dabs to get rid of shine, and I tried taking b5 vitamin - I'm not sure if this is effective since I haven't been consistant w/it. I try to drink plenty of water too -- I still use moistrurizer even though it makes my face greasier, I figure it's better to moisturize and look greasy than not moisturize at all, other than that, let me know if you find out any other regimens!

Try an oil-reducing toner. Any toner could help but there are ones specifically forumlated for fighting oil. Also, if you must moisturize, use an oil fighting moisturizer. Clean and Clear makes a good one! Those oil sheets work too, to dab at your skin. Tip: toilet seat covers work just as well and they're free! =D. Light colored tissue paper (to put in gift bags) works the same too.

other than accutane, there is little way really.

some people suggest:

1. moisturizers (counter-intuitive, but some people suggest it)

2. green tea, clay, zinc or cinnamon extract that way inhibit alpha-5 reductase--it will supposedly limit oil production. (skintactix)

3. oil blotting sheets, or towels from the restroom.

4. milk of magnesia

5. washing with warm water, instead of hot water.

thats all i can think of.

Some things might delay your oilyness but eventually you will get oily. The only way to stop this is to wait until you grow out of it, or until you can live with it. People with oily skin tend to look younger when they age, so it's not that bad of a thing. Although right now for me it sucks because my pores keep clogging.

it's pretty annoying, but your face is not as oily as you THINK! and even if it is, .....DAB AWAY, and LIVE A LITTLE :o)

I swear to this product that has gotten rid of 85% of my extremely oil producing face. I am not kidding ,since 15yo till about 3 weeks ago ( I am a 51yo male) my oily skin was off the charts ,I could literally watch the oil coming out of my pores 8 min after washing face with soaps, astringent, over the counter everything, u name it.it was tough. I have been told all my life by a lot of friends family and strangers that I am a very attractive man and I believe they had no reason to lie. But I could not go out in public with a constant oil slick on my face, I mean I isolated a good majority of my life with emotional pain and tears bad panic attacks. I could not even be the best man at my best friends wedding. It literally had my life paralyzed. About a month ago a person on the internet said high volumes of vitamin D3 (not 2) but D3. Once a day I took 5000mg starting less than a month ago and I swear on my mother's grave 85% of my greasy nightmare is gone. No joke , no exaggeration, I am still in shock, almost without words the joy and comfort and self esteem I feel. It has changed my life as I write this with tears in my eyes. God bless u all. And Peace!
