I have not tried it but recently read about its effect on free testosterone and total testosterone levels. (I'm looking to decrease DHEA-S, which was found to be elevated in me, but my free testosterone/ total testosterone were within the normal range; so I don't know that spearmint tea would work for me.)
That said, I think it couldn't hurt to try spearmint tea. Also, I've read that applying spearmint oil could help. (I've the impression that it's to be applied on certain areas of the body where it's best/ safely absorbed andnotapplied directly onto breakouts. But I don't recall exactly what I'd read about that.)
If you still are taking Spiro, my thought is to add spearmint tea into your diet in the meantime (assuming that spearmint tea doesn't interfere with Spiro?). Then when you feel ready to stop taking Spiro--discuss that issue with your doctor first--then you already will have had spearmint tea possibly having some positive effect going for a while. Just my $.02.
I have been drinking 2 cups of spearmint tea a day for 6 months and i can definitely say that my face is a lot less oily. Ican for sure attribute this to spearmint tea since my skincare+ lifestyle has remained the same. But it doesn't magically clear acne. I have to be diligent about my skincare routine too. So I would say that it is worth giving it a try if your have mild acne and oily skin. If it is severe, i guess it won't help you.
