Hello all,

I hope someone can help me here..

I have been on the birth control Yasmin for about theee years now. Around the same time I had some cosmetic salicylic acid peels done by a specialist clinic. After trying years of diffeeent pills, antibiotics and topical treatments the pill really helped me. Dianette made me awfully depressed and didn't actually help my in that much, Yasmin when i just started it was perfect for me. I felt great and my skin improved dramatically.

Three years down the line my skin is almost back to how it was before. The cysts are deep and painful and on my neck be jawline. They come and go at different times during the month.

I must add, all of a sudden my hair has been falling out like crazy and i believe this could also be linked to the Yasmin.

Im wondering whether my body has got used to Yasmin and now it is doing more harm than good. I am worried about coming off birth control altogether just incase that makes things even worse still but I not actually need to be on it for any other reasons so could technically come off it right good. I know Yasmin is one of the best (if not THE best) for controlling hormonal acne so now what?

These cosmetic peels are fab but at 100 a go it's not the most convenient thing in the world.

Do i change my pill? Do I come off it altogether and now I'm older my body may have regulated my hormones itself?

Anyone help?

I keep hearing about this happening more and more, especially with Spiro, and unfortunately this has happened to me as well every time I took birth control (Yaz) for more than a few months :/ I think our bodies do get used to it and adjust. What helped me is getting on a PCOS diet, exercising, and taking Inositol supplements, but I'm struggling to commit to the diet as it is very hard to follow, and I still breakout in typical hormonal acne on my jaw.
