Hi everyone - I'm on Yaz and am almost halfway through my third pill pack. In the first two months, my back and chest were clear and face was experiencing mild-moderate cystic acne in the chin/jaw area. Now, my back is getting a few cysts again and my cystic acne on my face is basically the worst it's ever been - a new cyst or two a day on my chin. I wanted to know if it's normal to experience an "initial breakout" this late? Should I stick with Yaz?

I'm also on 50mg per day of Spiro but am hoping to increase the dosage to 100mg soon.

Hi Nicole8808, I had a similar experience with Dianette. I had clear skin until I got the implant approx 6 years ago, my skin wasn't bad but I did get the odd cyst/spots around my jaw line but totally manageable and coverable! I had this removed in November last year and after giving my body a break for 4-5 months hoping my skin would go back to it's pre-implant spot free self, it did not. So went to the GP who prescribed my Dianette....BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER!! After the first few weeks i started breaking out with clusters of spots on my chin and jaw line, really painful too! Any way after being told by the GP it could take 3-4 months to fully work I stuck with it....5 months down the line and my skin is worse than ever. I finished the packet and will not be starting the next one. Not only do I have awful puss filled painful spots, I have red marks/scars to deal with and my confidence is shattered. Hopefully it doesn't take long for the evil pill to leave my body, I would gladly welcome back what I thought was 'bad skin' from 5 months ago.
Could you go to a family planning clinic rather than GP? They seem to be more clued up then GP's!
