In order to make a very long, frustrated question short: Is there a link between eating disorders, that causes hormonal-unbalance and acne?
I could use a proper explanation!
Best Regards.

Not sure but anything is possible.
I'll tell you this, when I went on a restrictive diet a few years ago hoping to help my acne, it actually got worse the more weight I lost. I can't quote a study but I think fat cells have estrogen and losing a lot of fat might have made my hormones more messed up. And eating disorders will stress your body which is never good for acne.

Ive had an eating disorder for 17 years and Ive noticed that the worse my anorexia gets the worse my face/acne becomes. Its hormonal and nutrition deprived.

According to the Eating Disorder Institute, it is common...

I had a thyroid problem and lost 35 pounds, only weighed 90 pounds, was a skeleton, didn't get my period. Had my hormones checked and my body was not making any due to lack offat (that is what my doctor told me).My skin never looked better than it did then, all my acne went away. When the weight came back after treatment, so did the acne. Must be that Eating Disorders work differently...

Yep I agree with this too. It can happen both ways. Your body at that size either creates too much hormones, so you have an increase in acne or too little, which clears it up.

I had perfect skin when I was anorexic, and I believe it's because I was and still am estrogen dominant. Anorexia makes estrogen levels decline (which is also why women who have it miss their periods). I didn't get PMS nodules on my chin the entire time I was starving myself. That isn't to say that eventually, I wouldn't have gotten acne due to causing another hormone imbalance in myself (too little estrogen), but thankfully I received treatment before I got worse. My suspected thyroid/adrenal problem began less than one year after I got treatment, I believe I really messed up my body with the ED and I regret it to this day.
