I've never had acne before really, completely clear skin, with only an occasional bump. I just turned 22 and my face is having a COMPLETE MELTDOWN. My whole face is just covered now and doesn't seem to be responding to anything I use to clean or treat it, it gets worse by the week and I just don't know what to do anymore. None of them really come to a head and hurt, when poked the only thing that comes out is clear like water.  I don't have money to see a professional yet but I was diagnosed with PCOS at 17 so I know I have that, not sure if it's related. I'm new to this kind of thing, any advice is appreciated

It does look like it could be hormonal. This type of acne is notoriously difficult to treat with a topical regimen (I have the same type). Are you on birth control?

Have you looked into any online dermatology services? When I didn't have health insurance these were the far more affordable option for me, and they can prescribe many prescription-strength treatments.

My acne looks very similar to yours and is in the same area of my face. It's that same combination of red marks and bumps, I hate it. It started happening in Dec right when I turned 23. I just went on the pill almost 3 weeks ago to treat it because topical stuff has never done muchfor me so I think it's hormonal. I am hoping my current skin care routine in combination with the pill will help me. I already lead a very healthy lifestyle in terms of diet and exercise anyway, so I know it isn't related to that!

I agree, usually birth control and/ or spironolactone will help. Make sure you ask for a BC pill specifically for acne. Yaz, Yasmine and orthocyclen asre the most used ones.
I have PCOS too. I drink spearmint tea and take zinc and vitamin A.
You could maybe ask for a topical retinoid or an antibiotic combo cream, epiduo, duac, differin. Or try the regimen like above poster says. Good luck!
