Hello guys, so I have almost reached the end of my third pack of birth control pills. And I discover that ever since I have started taking them, my skin has improved but I still get breakouts around my mouth usually a week before the placebo pills. Has anyone also experienced the same? Breaking out before the placebo pills? Also, I have noticed that I tend to get those really deep pimples when I have spotting too.
Right now I am on Yaz. I am wondering if my breakout is the result of it having 24 days of active pills instead of 21. Since I always tend to experience spotting before my actual placebo pills. Do you think I should maybe switch to Yasmin and see whether a shorter period of active pills can solve the problem? Any advice? Thank you 🙂
Hi Jennifer, that happened to me and my doctor explained that it's because of the ups and downs of the natural cycle that the pill is still regulating, but I'm only in my first pack on another pill (Gynorelle, 24 days)... When I used Yaz it never happened though, but my body got used to the Drospirenone and when I stopped taking them, the result was acne. You should try to reach your gyn, she'll have a more accurate answer 🙂
Also you can try to take Evening Primrose oil in your last active pill till you start the new pack, it helps a lot
