I started taking Yasmin four months ago and suffered from initial break outs. This including some painful cysts onsome days, then a wave of white heads on other days. I thought this was just an initial break out and as recommended by many continued taking it. I have now finished month four and my skin has never been so bad. All over my jaw line and cheek areas there are painful spots, white head, red marks, dry patched... I really feel like my skin has been completely damaged by the pill and now I don't know what to do!
I stopped taking it last week as if it did clear up (I can't see that happening it's just getting worse and worse) I don't feel like going through what my skin is like now is worth it.
I know every person is different but after looking online (practically every night after looking in the mirror and breaking down) I haven't found people who suffer with yasmin in the same way. Please, any advice or personal experience will really help me..
I am 24 years old and I suffered from a little acne in the past.
Sam, Hi! Maybe you should try to "clean" yourself from the Drospirenone that Yasmin has in it, I had problems with it (not the same way yo do) but I found that it wasn't the right pill for me... Things I tried that might help you: Evening Primrose oil, take it twice a day (morning and night), it will help you a lot with your skin! Also, try to take vitamins like skin hair nails (or whatever that has vitamin E, C, D, and zinc in it), and a natural concentrate called Zarzaparrilla, that works cleaning your kidneys and liver, and it will help you clean your skin as well. When I got of Yasmine (it's Jasmine or Jasminiqin my country) my skin suffered a lot, I'm still trying to figure it out and finally give up and I'm trying another birth control pills... But the natural methods helped me tons! You have to be patient, but after a month you can see the improvement for sure 🙂
If you want to know a little bit about my experience, I just started a log for the new pill... hope your skin gets well soon
