I've just started ortho tri cyclen (switched from generic) the generic made me break out all the time. And had heard that the brand name is better (different fillers or something)
I'm on week 3 first pack and I knew going into this I would have an intial breakout.
I would get cysts every so often before hand but my main problem has always been clogged pores aka whiteheads and blackheads All around my mouth jawline and chin. Hormonal right?
But now on ortho I'm feel like I'm 13 again having awful break outs to the point I feel gross going out in public. Mostly cystic acne but it seems my whiteheads are coming to the surface
Hey girl, I've got good news for you. I got on Ortho Tri Cyclen and had massive cystic breakouts for 7 full months. I'm now on month 9 and my face is pretty much completely clear. I always tell other women to hang in there because I was incredibly frustrated and upset for those seven months. My advice? Take care of your face and remember that you are more than your skin. Also, you are not gross as you stated. Acne is normal, especially for us hormonal females 
Omg 7 months that's crazy! But I'm glad to hear you're clear! I'm just about to start month two and nothing has really changed. I do feel like it is getting everything to the surface and will hopefully start working it's magic. I'm defiantly gonna hang in there I don't wanna restart this whole process again. I'm going to the derm semi soon and was thinking about maybe asking to get on sprio... thanks for responding though makes me have some hope!
