Hello, I am curious to know how to tell if your have Acne due to to much bad estrogen or if it is caused by to much testosterone. I know a hormone test would obviosuly tell you the answers but unfortunately i can not afford those. I am looking to seek a treatment but i don't want to use a testosterone booster if my acne is caused by to much testosterone. How can you tell?
I have super oily skin - but im italian and always have
also my sex drive is kinda low but thats mainly because i dont feel sexy with the skin i am in
I think that if it's too much estrogen you would have symptoms of extra estrogen like weight gain, eating a lot (estrogen dominance encourages estrogen dominance ,) cellulite on the butt... This is what I had 2 years ago lol. If it's high testosterone usually you'll have a pretty high sex drive and a leaner more muscular build .. I've gone thru many changes in my body and acne from hormone changes . Also very oily skin and hair is usually high T
Also bigger boobs with the estrogen of course
It's possible to have both.
No, blood tests are not reliable. You would have to time the blood test according to your cycle etc, and hormone levels fluctuate a lot, so unless you have a major imbalance, blood tests will show that your hormones are in the (broad) "normal" range.

You do not get a blood test to test hormone levels, you get a saliva test - which is much more accurate. When you get a saliva hormone test through ZRT labs you fill out a questionnaire on your symptoms and you also state exactly where you are in your cycle - the test is then measured to tell you where your hormones stand during that specific time of the month, which in return tells you if you are high or low. I recently received my saliva hormone tests back from ZRT lab. It cost me $100 to get Estrogen/Estradiol, Progesterone and Testosterone tested. Not very expensive - and pretty quick results they e-mail to you. I'm not sure why everyone doesn't do this instead of constantly shooting in the dark. I keep seeing people say to others that it is not reliable and pointless, absolutely not. It will give you the answer you need in order to move forward and address your actual hormone issues instead of guessing about them.
