Hello everyone! I have got so much info from these boards, what a lifesaver and thanks for sharing your stories. I DONT understand this medicine and can't get answers!!! These boards have been my lifelines.
I need some info that I can't seem to get answers from even from my doctor, natural hormone doctor, nor Dermatologist.
I was just dx with adult onset acne , thanks Mother Nature! I started NHT (natural hormone therapy) w/ progesterone, testosterone, & estrogen.
At this point I know my testosterone is about at 150. My family doc says its at 3x the level it should be. I have not had any acne at all not side effects for the last year in a half until now. I am talking pimples and cysts That never turn white and they are huge, burn, and scar terribly. He feels then testosterone builds in system & that's what is causing it, but That is not what derm thinks at all. I am literally 5'2 on a great day & hv worked my butt off to take off weight and the T helped a great deal at beginning with muscle increase and weight loss along w/ diet and exercise. Then it was all on me. I started with all the creams, minocycline, however had terrible headaches, talking blurry vision & weight gain.
After a full hyster from fibroids, it has been a nightmare trying to balance until I invested in NHT. It has been a lifesaver in so many ways like sanity, skin at first, and just balance.
1) Now today on Actadone or Spironolactadone 50 mg. Creams are Finacea, Retin A micro (PM) and Axzone in AM. I don't always use it depending on my skin.
I'll try to make my questions easier! My face is like a full on oil slick sometimes. With the T I hv noticed an increase in some hair growth (you know the one black one on your chin your BF should always tell you about!)
2) Should I request increase my T to help with weight gain? I know this is only given to women for most part? Lower my estrogen? I just know for most part the women with hormonal issues have had issues hv of estrogen. I know everyone is different but I just need to know how to balance this, or how you did? I am so confused about the hormone issue.
3) Tired! Could sleep all day, I hv seen this w/ some people as far as increase in urine and sleep. I hv been taking it at night. How long before this passed & does this explain some of weight gain?
** I guess how can I get ahead of some of these no threat side effects we all don't want.
Can someone pls help me with this?!! I hv worked so hard and to lose my momentum is really scary. I know you have to pick your battles. Who wants either one of those issues?! Hot cystic bumps that burn and stay for months, or 30 pounds of extra weight. Again hoping this doesn't happen. Doctors don't get endocrine issues, It is SO confusing
** sorry to sound so ignorant but I just don't understand how this medicine works. Smart girl but the more I read the more confused I get.
Thank you so so much, you have no idea how much this will help me, no idea. Thank you so much, I just really need help.
Blessings!!
Amelia

I'm bumping this up because you sound desperate and noone has responded. My advice is to get off it or find a better doctor.
