I'm trying to see whether diet affects my acne and honestly I have mixed results. It is also hard to establish a direct link when you're applying several methods and treatments at the same time over months. What are your thoughts?

It's a case by case basis. I have done so many diet changes including paleo and have not had an ounce of improvement. When I eat bad, I breakout. When I eat healthy, I break out. I haven't been able to establish a cause and effect relationship between my acne and food. With that said, for many of us, our acne is caused by a multitude of things and removing/improving one thing may not show results.m don't go too crazy with diets though.

Yes - low histamine diet. This would work for people with food allergies too. I found it to be much more effective than other elimination diets.

Low histamine works for me too, and absolutely no dairy. Dairy was my biggest trigger. I have PCOS with elevated testosterone levels. Water intake makes a difference for me too. You don't need to go overboard with water though, not to be gross but once your pee is just about clear then you're good. If you notice it being yellow/darker, then have some more water. I found that 60-80 oz a day was good for me, but I'm a very short person with a sedentary lifestyle. It's interesting though, you have to test everything. I think it's better to test one trigger at a time to really discover what seems to be connected to your breakouts.

I used this list for a histamine aid: http://www.histamineintolerance.org.uk/about/the-food-diary/the-food-list

and kimber, some nuts ended up being a trigger for me because of the histamine level. Cashews are a big no for me.

Yes, I totally agree with everything.

Cashews made my throat swell up (which never happened before I developed a histamine issue), so that was the last time I had them. Almonds are fine for me, though.
