What Beyaz And Spiro Have Done For My Skin So Far (Pictures!)

Hello fellow acne sufferers!

I let acne consume my life, and I finally found something that is making it go away. I've tried the Regimen, the natural route, supplements, Paula's Choice CLEAR line, and so much more besides accutane. This was pretty much my last hope.

Anyway, I started taking Beyaz about 6 months ago (I have 3 more pills in my 6 month pack). I decided to switch from my Mirena IUD (which was causing me severe cystic acne) to this new birth control. I was seeing a great improvement, but was still breaking out around my period. I decided to try Spironolactone to see if it would get me even clearer. Well, dangit, I wish I had done this sooner...because I'm getting the results that I've wanted for so long. Now, I'm not *perfectly* clear. I'd probably have to eat no sugar and no dairy to get that way-- I'm assuming. But, I just don't feel like doing that. haha. I like food. I'm a runner, so I exercise daily. I still get a stray zit here and there every month or so, but that's nothing compared to the daily struggle of waking up with 3-6 more spots on my face that weren't there the night before.

It now takes me 2 minutes to cover my red marks with BB cream and then throw on some mascara...compared to the 45-60 minutes it used to take me to do my full face of makeup including foundation, concealer, powder, and blush. THEN I'd have to do my mascara. I feel more free than I've ever felt.

My gallery photos show my progress. I do still have red marks and my face is actually naturally pink in some spots (which I don't mind...so it's not a big deal to me.)

Before (not even my worst...and you can't see the microcysts ALL along my jawline or the cysts that are developing on my neck.):

After: I'm still working on those red marks. They're slowly fading. Also, sorry about the lighting. It's not the greatest and actually makes the red marks look worse, not better. And that little blob of clay mask is on a tiny zit that never came to fruition. Wee!

Another thing that has also helped me is lessening my compulsive picking. I'm not completely where I'd like to be with it, but I'm no longer spending hours a week ripping at my face.

Thanks Maria!! :D I guess I mean overall red patches on my cheeks-- which are created by tons of tiny red marks due to my history of picking. They'll go away eventually, I'm sure! lol.... (hopefully! :P)

You look great! You and others who have reaped such good rewards from spiro are the reason why I am fighting so hard to get it prescribed. Hopefully I will and see an improvement like yours!

Oh, it's so relieving! No more stress about whether or not someone can see that I covered my spots with 15 layers of concealer. haha

I hope you do!! I think most women who feel like they're at the end of the rope in terms of acne treatments should give Spiro and birth controls like Beyaz a try. Get those hormones in check! haha

Awesome, glad to hear youre finally clear!

Thanks CWR24! biggrin.png Now only a month 'till AF basic training--I ship out Feb. 4. Never thought I'd be clear enough to be alright without makeup during those 8 1/2 weeks!

I don't know if there is something wrong with my screen (or my eyes tongue.png) but it isn't that obvious. Someday i might post my red marks, if i don't feel too embarrassed..

All I can say is WOW. I am so happy for you!!!! You are looking amazing :) I have an appointment this Wednesday and am asking for the Spiro. I wish I could do BCP too and I even filled my prescription for Diane-35, but after reading the info I just have to many risk factors and am too scared, but before I had kids took them for years and had great skin the entire time! Way to be patient with it...and I can't see any redness in the photos, but if you do have it...it will fade with time for sure!!!

Well if you had good results with Diane-35, you'll most likely see great results with Spiro! I take 25mg of Spiro in the morning and then I take my BC at night. Beyaz contains a Spiro-like progesterone, so I'm essentially taking 50mg of Spiro a day. I've seen people with success on 100mg, 75mg, 50mg-- you just have to figure out what works for you! Good luck with the doctor appointment!

Thanks for the comment! I can be quite critical of my skin-- especially after years of struggling with it. Hopefully the redness that I see either fades or I learn to accept it! :D:P
