Birth Control For Hormonal Acne

So if anyone looked at my skin, they'd say I have very mild acne. Luckily, my acne is not inflamed red pimples or cystic pimples all over my face. Unfortunately, I have small flesh-colored bumps on my chin. These bumps are called closed comedones. They do not come to a head no matter what. Although they are not THAT noticeable, it takes a huge toll on my self-esteem. I believe this is hormonal acne because I've always had clear skin up until my senior year of high school. I began stressing over college apps and I actually began getting anxiety. My anxiety was to the point where I saw therapists and had to go on medication to treat it. Fortunately, my anxiety no longer exists! I have been struggling with acne for about a year. I have tried plenty of topical treatments for my skin and a dermatologist actually prescribed me Differin, but I was hesitant to start it because I truthfully didn't think it would help this type of acne. I finally saw a gynecologist to go on birth control. I am currently on week 7 of Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. Tomorrow starts week 4, placebo week (inactive pills). I am aware that it takes about 3 months for the birth control to fully adjust to your body, but I know that's for the real pregnancy-preventing part to it. Does that go for acne too? So far my acne has not gotten better, but it hasn't gotten worse. I've really had no side effects besides going up a cup size. I'm really hoping that by the end of month 3 I'll be seeing better results, but I'm pretty doubtful about it. Some people have told me I should bump it up to regular Ortho Tri-Cyclen instead of the lower. Does anyone have any input on this? Please help if you struggle(d) with hormonal acne or have taken birth control for it!!! I need answers!

Yes, birthcontrol helped me out SOO much. actually cleared me up completley. Although I did get a blood clot from it and had to go off. my acne is cystic and nodule hormonal acne though. I would look into it, it really helps =) Plus birthcontrol, like you said is great for breast enhancment haha.

God I miss birth control so much =(( best thing ever! combined with spirolactone.
