Accutane Didn't Last: What Next? Need Results Asap

Hey all,

I'm a 23 y/o female and up to 2 weeks ago, I thought acne was a thing of the past for me. But after looong periods on Accutane and long years of being clear, last week it just appeared out of nowhere and suddenly i was covered in large cysts. I flew home and now, after the initial shock, I am thinking how to sort this out.

I have limited options: I can't really go for Accutane again, it has left me quite damaged. I have tinnitus (=ringing in the ears) not caused, but probably exacerbated by Accutane. But after living the good life for like 4 years, dealing with breakouts became unthinkable for me. I am just not willing to socially withdraw because of it, not anymore... I have done that from 17 to 19.

Now I have a week at home to see all possible docs/have tests.

Question - what would you do in my place, considering I have this hearing/CNS issue, tinnitus? I also need to get quick results, as I can't put up with this and I have work/school...

So shall I:

- Go for a very low dose of Accutane (I really do not want to :( )

- Try Diane/Dianette

- Try Spiro

- Try a combination of Diane + Spiro

What do you reckon? Any advice will be much appreciated!

Sincerely,

Yet another desperate adult acne sufferer :/

Forgot to say! Acne is mainly around chin/mouth, a few random pimples here and there, but it seems to be the main area. I got like a million whiteheads that are turning into cysts - hence is the guess that it's hormonal. I get irregular periods, too.

I say try spiro or try spiro but the Diane 35 or Yasmin. The only thing that cleared my acne for good was birth control. When my daughter started having bad acne I took her to a derm last year when she was almost 16. He mentioned accutane to us. But I had read that a lot of females who take accutane have their acne return later. I asked him about this. He said it is because they never get their hormones under control so the acne comes back. He said he prefers giving Yasmin to women with acne. The birth control got my daughters acne under control.

I forgot to say she had irregular periods also. Spiro can make your periods irregular so you might need to take birth control with it to regulate them

What are you using on your face? Adding topicals and changing skin care products may help.
