Just last month, I got a sudden breakout on my forehead and cheek and I've never had this type of breakout at all, just the occasional pimple on my jawline due to hormones and now my forehead has some red inflamed acne and my cheeks are a bit itchy, rough and bumpy. My cheek broke out with some red inflamed acne but finally drained and has left some acne marks (red, brown) but my forehead acne has been here for almost a month now.
My original routine that's helped me was using the COSRX Salicylic Acid 0.5% gentle cleanser + centella skin 1004 brightening toner + aveeno moisturizer but so far I switched it to the Cetaphil gentle cleanser and a Eucerin original cream moisturizer as I wanted to stop the actives.
I spot tested PanOxyl BP Cream 4% Acne Wash on one of my forehead pimples and so far its just gotten the redness down but has no whitehead, but so far it looks like its gone down a lot.
What should I do, please help !
I'm having a little trouble following. Got a pic? The Regimen will get you cleared up. Take the quiz for lots of advice.
My forehead used to have these red inflamed pimples, though i've recently cleared them up with a Clindamycin/BP 1/5% prescription and Im using Retin-A Micro 0.1% Gel. The picture I attached was from 2 weeks ago, now theyve cleared up fully but just wanted to attach a photo to show it.
Im left with some brownish/red-acne marks on my cheeks and brown acne marks where the inflamed forehead pimples were. I still have some closed comedomes on my cheeks as well.
I had to stop the Retin-A Gel for a bit as my skin was too itchy and I experienced a bit of irritation on my jawline/hairline (possibly due to Tret?, not sure)
So far Im left with the brownish/red marks and still have some closed comedomes.. Any way to get rid of this? Thank you!
what can i use alongside tret to help treat the marks so they can fade faster? 🙁
im trying axis ys niacinamide spot treatment but its almost 2 weeks. not seeing any results yet but im not sure if its making me irritated either. but im gonna try it a bit longer to see. How do i know if i have any sensitivity issue to niacinamide?
Nothing is a miracle to be honest. Keeping out of the sun is good and not picking or touching is of course super important. Otherwise, taking fish oil might help, and eating anti-inflammatory might also help (low-carb). Beyond that, I don't know of any miracle topicals. Niacinamide actually does help, but as you're seeing, not immediately. It can take some time.
I have an appointment for the dermatologist in about 3 weeks. Before this entire breakout, I would normally get 1-3 pimples every year, so my skin was fairly clear before this happened. I'm not really sure what triggered it honestly so it is a bit frustrating on my end as I'm still dealing with the marks on my cheeks and forehead. Though before this happened, I used to squeeze my pimples (small ones, medium sized ones) and they would never leave scars but now that this happened, I don't touch my pimples or even bring my hand to my face at times but it leaves a small mark... Hopefully I get some answers at my derma visit!
