Hello everyone,
Long read. Im new here and really hoping you can help me. Ive been dealing with acne for about 15 years now. I rarely get acne on my cheeks, its more on my chin and forehead. I would get terrible cystic acne and Ive been prescribed tazorac, retin a, solodyn and spironolactone a few times in my life.
At some point, I want to say about 12 years ago, I started to get these flesh colored bumps on my chin and forehead as well. None of the medications Ive been on topically/orally targeted these specific bumps. I am currently on spironolactone again and while its definitely helped calm my cycstic acne, I still have these flesh colored bumps all over. Oh and I also tried Nizoral anti-dandruff shampoo because of what I read online about it but that didnt help either. From everything I read online, it could be milia/sebaceous hyperplasia. I am ruling out milia because of the size and the fact that there is no white tip. I think it could possibly be sebaceous hyperplasia but mine seems way more clustered and the shape does seem a bit different than the pics Ive seen.
The last derm I went to said she wasnt sure what it was and prescribed me spiro and retin a again. Unfortunately, that hasnt helped one bit. If theres nothing that can help reduce these particular bumps either orally or topically, Id really like to know at this point. If laser/cryotherapy/electrocauterization may be the only thing that helps, I want that peace of mind. Im at the point where Im comfortable that Im not struggling as much with terrible cystic acne anymore, but with these bumps remaining all over my face, its still difficult to be happy with my skin.
Sqeezing my chin the pic so you can see them better, lol.
Looks like the pic was removed. Little bumps often come from:
- Irritation - something constantly rubbing against your skin or even your fingers constantly touching your skin
- Makeup - any makeup can cause little bumps and can take a few months to show up so it seems mysterious but just took a while
- Washing too hard and frequently - when you wash really hard and frequently, little bumps can show up
Do any of those seem like they could be the culprit?
