Hi everyone
I used BP from 2020 to 2022. I was not moisturizing my skin properly and my skin became so angry, red and burning. So angry that I decided to ditch everything and do the caveman regimen. After 2 months the parts of my face I used to apply BP to were covered with a thick dead skin mask (yellow scales). When I wiped it off, the skin was even more angry, so raw. I stopped using BP two years ago. I am now using a moisturizer for 6 months but my skin is still damaged and burning.
i have found this topic, the person was dealing with the exact same problem but it was 10 years ago and I dont know if they found a cure.

I am at my wits ends. My face burns 24/7. I have dark thoughts and I cry every day. I need a cure. Has anyone been through this ?
Hey, thank you for your reply and for trying to help me. Sorry if it was confusing, I will try to make it more clear.
After 3 years of BP use, i ditched the BP. The following year, I kept using my skincare routine except the BP. I would use a cleanser twice a day, a HA serum, light moisturizer (Avene Tolerance Extreme Emulsion), and niacinamide. Vitamin C every now and then and it would burn so bad.
Because my skin was not getting better after a year of this routine, i ditched everything and decided to do the caveman regimen. After 2 months of this caveman regimen, my skin was covered with a thick "yellow dead skin mask". I wiped it off (it was not an easy thing to do because the scales were stuck to my skin), and the skin underneath was very raw and shiny as if it was missing the outer protective layer. It kept building up for the 4 next months. I was not still using any skincare (not even water), i would just wipe the yellow flakes/scales every few days as it built up. At first it would build up very fast, but it lessened each time. Because my skin was still on fire, red, raw and burning (and the flakes kept building), I decided to use a moisturizing serum to see if it could bring me some relief. This was 6 months ago. Soon afer I added MCT oil because I have read that it's a miracle for seb derm (After reading a lot of things on the internet I thought maybe this is SD but I don't know). It did not cure me thought, but it feels hydrating so i have been using a moisturizing serum + MCT oil for the past 6 months.
Here are some photos (the first two is my skin after the 2 months of the caveman regimen, next 2 show my irritated skin right after I would wipe the buildup off, and the last one is my skin now).
It is still burning, every day, 24/7 and it's very hard to deal with the pain.
Maybe I should say that I have visited a derm who gave me antibiotics that did not help.
Bubblera I am in the exact same boat as you... I get these thick, yellow scales of dead skin on my t zone whenever I do the caveman routine (on and off for 5 months) I always get the urge to remove the mask of dead skin but then it feels like I'm back to day 1 because my skin is red and raw 🙁 Has anything worked for you?
Hi dear. Please try this
In the evening, use your gentle cleanser, a bit of moisturiser then vaseline petroleum jelly (unscented, unfragranced).
I know it's said to be mineral oil and bad for you and all of that, but it really works. Also, it won't clog your pores. It will help your skin heal
kris kowalczyk I am sorry I am only seeing your comment today. I have not found anything that helps, have you...? I have come across quite a few posts of people dealing with the exact same problem but they are old and they did not come back to say if they found a cure or not
