I've had adult moderate severe acne for many years. My skin is naturally oily and I'd get 2-3 large, painful, red cysts on my cheeks weekly and no matter what I did they wouldn't go away. I tried, Accutane, Proactiv, Neutragena, Clearsil, Stridex, etc. Nothing would touch it, until I started learning about my skin and modifying my life accordingly. It's important to understand the function of the skin in order to combat breakouts. Just know that the skin is part excretory organ, so it excretes toxins to help keep the body safe and healthy.

I don't want to make a long post, so here are the highlights.

-I became a selective vegan and minimized eating meat and diary when possible.
-IAvoid constipation!!! I Don't go more than 2 days w/o a bowel movement.
-I change my pillow cases once a week.

Here's my routine I do everyday.

AM

1. Cleanse face with Dr. Bronner's Tea Tree Castile Soap with a white washcloth in the shower using gentle circular motions (it's great at breaking down makeup).
2. Apply Pixi Glow Tonic toner with my hands, let dry.
3. Apply Caudalie Skin Essence with my hands, let dry.
4. Apply pea size Differin Gel to face.
5. Apply dime sizeMurad's Water Gel moisturizer and let it absorb into face for 1 min.
6. Apply 2 drops of tea tree oil and 2 drops of jojoba oil to hands and mix together then pat onto face.
7. Let everything absorb for a few minutes. Get dressed.
8. Spray Too Faced Hangover makeup setting/primer spray to prime face for makeup.
9. Apply IT cc Cream Foundation with brush. (I wear no other makeup besides foundation)
10.Spray Too Faced Hangover makeup setting/primer spray to set face.
11. Quickly wash your makeup brush with a little Dr. Bronner's Tea Tree Castile Soap in your hand.

I also use the Aztec Healing Clay Mudmask every other day before I cleanse my skin.

P.M.

I know there's a lot of expensive and intense stuff, and you're probably wondering if all these products, wash cloths, gels, oils, toners, masks are inflaming or irritating my skin. Surprisingly, they're not irritating at all and my skin has been acne free and glowing for a few months. My skin is naturally very oily and not sensitive at all, so I guess my face can take it. I don't know the effects these products would have on someone with more sensitive skin, so use at your discretion.
