Hey acne.org!
I'm an 18 y.o. male with fairly medium to mild acne! Last year during the school year, acne began to pop up on either side of my mouth. But this is different than other acne I've had before. This was much more subtle, but now I have enough that the skin around and under either side of my mouth looks visibly bumpy. I've come to recognize it as closed comedones. I know this has been posted before, but many claim that changing toothpastes solved it. For me, I switched to sensodyne (SLS free, usually the solution many have) about a month ago and I still have the same problem. I used to use cetaphil cleanser only and had no problem, and added on moisturizer later. The moisturizer I have now seems to only aggravate the problem, and my skin is a somewhat dry type. Was wondering if people just recommended typical products like BHA or something like that (never tried it) or if they think that fatty alcohols in my products could also be harmful (saw it on reddit but don't want to believe everything I see). Thank You!
A couple months ago I broke out with a ton of closed comedones around the sides of my chin. Looks terrible under light. I finally found that using Clinique Acne Solitions all over clearing treatment (benzoyl peroxide lotion) is clearing them away very quickly. I was using the Paulas choice benzoyl peroxide and it wasnt working like this, but the Clinique one is working. I hate closed comedones and Im amazed theyre clearing so quickly as Ive been stuck with them for months before.
