I am having such a frustrating dilemma with my skin; I'll start with the beginning. Since the age of 16, I have been dealing with persistent acne which just will not go away. Now, I am 18 and it seems to be getting worse and worse! I have been testing a countless amount of products, along with diet / lifestyle changes, to attempt to get rid of my acne but nothing seems to be working. Generally, I can get rid of all active-acne(s) for around one to two weeks, but then another breakout sprouts out of nowhere. Unfortunately, it has gotten to the point where I do not like leaving the house anymore and it's really effecting my life; I want to progress with my life and move on, but I just can not with this skin disorder holding me back.
Furthermore, I'm going to state my current skincare routine. In the morning, I generally just wash my face with water; I have stopped cleansing my skin twice a day, and I have seen wonders with the texture, hydration and overall condition with my skin. Next, I follow up with a k-beauty toner by Acwell which contains zero comedogenic ingredients, silicones or harmful ingredients which may potentially worsen acne. After this step, I follow with the Drunk Elephant C-Firma serum, which has really helped my skin with the post-acne discolouration, along with the texture of my skin and the overall condition of my skin. Then, I apply the Drunk Elephant B-Hydra gel-moisturiser which has significantly helped with the hydration of my skin, along with the already stated. Finally, I follow up with the Paula's Choice SPF30 for oily skin (the matte one with a slight tint). At night, I double cleanse my skin using the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil along with the COSRX Low pH cleanser. After this step, I follow up with the Biologique Recherche P50W, which by the way has worked wonders with my skin tone, texture and overall health. Then, I follow up with the COSRX Snail Mucin essence, the COSRX Propolis Light Ampule and the Drunk Elephant Protini moisturiser.
Now, with my lifestyle (male). Within my diet, I do not consume any dairy whatsoever, and I do not consume any sugars - unless it's a natural sugar within fruits. My diet is focused mainly on low-glycemic load foods and anti-inflammatory foods. For breakfast, I consume oatmeal which is made with unsweetened almond milk, along with red grapes and strawberries. For lunch, I generally have a consumable along with hummus. For dinner, I generally consume basmati rice along with organic poultry or meat. I drink around 2L of water per day, along with herbal teas. I do not stress much, and I'm generally pretty happy and in peace.
If anyone has any recommendations for me, please help me! Thank you.
Hey, it seems like you have put a lot of work into your own skin and have a long experience with different products and lifestyle changes etc.
So you have a variety of different serums you currently are using and say the are good for you skin so far. But you still have breakouts.. How long have you used these products?
Also with the diet, are you consuming vegetables in your meals. Omega 3s, zinc, selenium, vitamin A etc.?
Asking a lot to dig deeper to your main cause,
Cheers

I've been using them since the middle of April, and ever since I began using them my skin transformed quite drastically. However, I have made some unfortunate choices with my skincare routine, for example: around 1 month ago, I tried the CeraVe Hydrating cleanser which broke me out in around twenty or even more pimples across my cheeks and chin. But, I'm glad I was able to recognise that it was breaking me out within 3 days of using it so they did clear up reasonably fast. It's just highly baffling with why my skin clears up of active-acne, but then randomly breaks out again after around two weeks...
With my diet, I am potentially the worst with consuming vegetables! I believe I eat vegetables around once every three months, which is probably bad of me. I do consume hair, skin and nail capsules daily though, which contain the ingredients you stated.
Thank you for responding!
Glad to help you out, and also glad that you are admitting to some flaws in the diet, this in itself is a big step!
Just try out a few changes over time, add in a few vegs in your daily meals (hard to begin with).
Also try to stick with a product for about 8-10 weeks and see if you get results, this is the best way for the skin to adapt to the changes.
Take care, message any time
