Hi, im new in this web, and also my mother language its not english, so i`ll try to do my best telling you my story. Ive acne since i was 12 years old. i remember i bought all the products that were sold in the drugstore or supermarket, but it never really worked. I had periods of time that my skin looked not too bad, and i have to ephatised that it was never that bad, hopefully i never had cystic acne, what i always have its many whiteheads all over my forehead and cheeks, also they can appear sometimes in my chin, and my nose is fully cover in blackheads, also blockheads can appear in my cheek as well. So, my 17th birthday I suffer my worst breakout of my life, and I finally decided to visit the Dermatologist, she put my right back on Accutane 20mg/day for almost a year, I respond to the treatment incredible good and fast, no purging time, about my first 2 weeks on accutane i was almost clear, my side effects were just extremely dry lips that i had to use chapstick every 20 min. After i complete my treatment i was so sure that finally I found the cure for my persistent acne, and about 2 months after my last accutane pill, i started to feel my forehead so itchy, it looked red and bumpy, everyday i had more and more pustules and the itchy sensation was horrible. so i desperate went to see my derm again and she told me that it was normal after the treatment and prescribed me a regimen of expensive creams that i used without any improvement in my skin. 4 months of really itchy, red, bumpy and many pimples all over my face she recommend me to go again on accutane, choice that i agreed, so i went again on 20mg of accutane for 5-6 months, and again after 2 months finishing my last pill my face started to become red, itchy, pimples every where and bumpy texture. i used corticoid cream (desonide) and it refresh a little bit my skin, with less itchy feeling, in those days, I read on internet about rosacea, and i was sure to have it, so i went to another term, told my story and he agreed that it was rosacea (he was so sure that the rosacea wasn't induced by the accutane treatment, and im not sure to believe it) he look at my skin with a "wood lamp" with has blue light and he told me the he found in my skin the demodex, a parasite that sometimes lives in our skin and its more likely to live in people with rosacea, so he prescribe me oral and topic ivermectin, my skin didn't improve at all with it. after being so frustrated with my skin i decided to take contraceptive pills (Qlaira) thinking that my problem might be hormonal, and after 6 empty boxes of qlaira my skin has not improve at all, i also stared epiduo 6 months ago, 3 weeks ago started also vitamin c serum + washing my face with effaclair + fish oil+ zinc+ vitamin and i have to say that truly im never totally clear, i have always some pimples all over my face and the blackheads never go away. I don't know what is the problem with my skin but i have to tell you guys that you are never alone in this, and i understand what have acne means.

Thanks for offering your perspective. Acne is definitely our bane. With any new treatment, give it at least 6 months before expecting it to even begin working.

good luck on your journey

Wow, that was really hard to hear how much you've suffered, and for so long, with almost no relief, after so much effort with so many different treatments. I had severe Rosacea for years, and I remember the same insanely itching, red inflammation you described.

I am here to offer a new perspective if you're interested... no pills, no creams, no products required! :)

Thanks for sharing your story, and best of luck to you !!

Natasha
